As Canadian businesses pivot in response to U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods, we have compiled a list of resources to help businesses navigate this change. InBC is committed to supporting B.C. businesses in this transition in whatever capacity we can, including working directly with the B.C. companies in our portfolio.

Tools & Resources:
- The Government of Canada’s Export from Canada page is a one-stop shop for export essentials. The Government has also published a list of products from the United States that may be subject to 25 per cent tariffs. There is a process for requesting remission on tariffs under specific circumstances, such as for goods used as inputs that cannot be sourced domestically.
- The Trade Commissioner Service’s CanExport SMEs is providing funding for key export activities helping Canadian businesses to enter new markets. The commissioner is also here to connect businesses with other funding and support programs, international opportunities and its network of trade commissioners in over 160 cities worldwide.
- The Government of British Columbia’s response to tariffs includes a list of supports for workers, businesses and industries.
- Trade and Invest BC offers a variety of resources helping your business tap into international markets.
- Understand if you have to pay tariffs with tools like the Canadian Tariff Finder and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s Canada-U.S. Trade Tracker.
- The Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) is here to facilitate strategic growth and foster international opportunities for small- and medium-sized businesses. They also have a list of other business resources and webinars, plus a summary of provincial and federal responses.
- Bennet Jones has prepared a Tariff Preparedness Diagnostic Toolkit.
- EDC’s United States market intelligence is here to support Canadian exporters. They also have a Tariffs 101 for those new to tariffs.
- BDC has a webpage of advice and tools for Canadian importers and exporters.
